YOU ASK, WE ANSWER.

This Q/A will be updated from live questions coming in from attendees to the conference. Have a question not addressed somewhere on the webpages for this event? Send it to QUESTION.

Q: Have you decided on the time spent for topics just for the BoardingArea bloggers?

A: Actually we have—about 2 1/2 hours together in private workshops on Saturday and them countless minutes at social events and at the Geek Bar. We feel that some of topcis that might come up among the BoardingArea bloggers are being covered by the cadre of experts we have speaking. Beyond the technical and topics like SEO, etc. part of the BoardingArea time is being carved out in a one-on-one with Randy. Where is BoardidngArea going, what are the initiatives planned for 2013 and how involved might we be in who new bloggers to the hosted platform are?

Q: How many bloggers outside of BoardingArea are you inviting?
A: Good question. We really have no idea of the interest nor the take-up of some of these other bloggers so that question is a hard one to answer. With 20+ BoardingArea bloggers expected to attend, we’re going to try and throttle it so that we have no more than 10-15 outside bloggers in the acceptance pool but frankly if not much interest, then certainly fewer. And who knows, we may have to say No to some who want to come. Regardless, we don’t see the outside bloggers accounting to more than those attending from BoardingArea. Most of those invited have expressed an interest in joining the BoardingArea platform and others have been suggested by our own bloggers.

Q: How will website critique candidates be chosen?
A: We’ll have time for about 4 or five of them in the nearly hour and a half session but those chosen will depend on how many BoardingArea bloggers volunteer for a critique. If that number exceeds 5, then w’ll likely put all the requests into a hat and draw or use random.org to help As well, a critique will not be restricted to just those attending. We’ll also entertain entries from a blogger who is unable to attend. We plan to have each session attended by an editor from InsideFlyer to take copious notes so that they can be shared alter on.

Q: Will we be able to discuss plug-ins?
A: Yep, that’s on the workshop agenda for BoardingArea bloggers. Once the website is completely moved to its new home, we’re going to work with WordPress on the 150 +/- plug-ins that have been vetted by our new host and come to some conclusions as to what plug-ins would enhance both the readers and the bloggers experience. Plug-in conflict is a major problem for high traffic websites like BoardingArea but working with vetter plug-ins poses far less risk.

Q: Are you covering hotel cost?
A: Affirmative. All attending BoardingArea bloggers will have their hotel cost covered for both Friday and Saturday night.

Q: Do we need a car?
A: Personal preference depending upon when you arrive and where you are arriving from. For those flying into Denver, likely a good idea since the ground transportation between the two locations is fairly steep. Renting a car in Denver gives you a little flexibility to look around along the way depending when you arrive. For those arriving into Colorado Springs on Friday and leaving out on Sunday, likely you don’t need a car because your time is going to be owned by the conference. We will be providing airport to hotel car shuttles on both days. And frankly the free time you have will be enjoyed at the host hotel. Now, if you have a +1, then you might consider as there will be plenty of time for them to drive around and enjoy some of the sights like visiting the Air Force Academy and the home of the Olympic Team Training Center. As things get closer we’ll work with each blogger for carpooling and rides. AVIS will be a sponsor and be offering some discounts and free days.
